The stunning organic ceramics of L’Avventurina
Maria Chiara is a ceramic artist and the founder of L’Avventurina Ceramiche. Her work emerges from an intuitive encounter with matter, where clay becomes a space for listening and transformation. Her pieces move between sculpture and function, evoking organic forms and imaginative presences. Galene Ceramic by L'Avventurina The surfaces, marked by drips, crackle effects, and layered textures, preserve traces of the process and make each piece unique. Here, imperfection is not a flaw but an essential quality—an authentic gesture that resists standardization and restores value to time, material, and the maker’s hand. Chinara Candleholder by L'Avventurina In dialogue with fire—an active and unpredictable force—each work finds its own unique outcome. This is how every piece is born: from the meeting of intention and surprise.A presence that inhabits space and invites a slower, more sensitive, and mindful relationship.

“In casa by Paboy” is a small, socially driven artisanal workshop based in Naples, founded during the first lockdown by 29-year-old Paboy Bojang. From Gambia to Naples Originally from The Gambia and currently seeking asylum in Italy, Bojang handcrafts vibrant cushion covers in bold, sweet-wrapper-inspired colours, using 100% cotton sourced from local suppliers in the historic heart of Naples. Paboy with his cushions in Naples He first learned his craft at the age of thirteen, when he was sent to work in his uncle’s tailor shop in Serrekunda. With the responsibility of becoming his family’s main provider, continuing his education was not an option. Yet, in those early years, he developed a sharp instinct for fabric selection and striking colour combinations. Growing up under a harsh 22-year dictatorship, Bojang—like many of his peers—felt compelled to leave his homeland in search of a better future. After a grueling two-year journey across the desert and the Mediterranean, he arrived in Italy in July 2015. In Naples, he eventually secured a position at the renowned majolica workshop Antica Manifattura di Stingo, whose ceramic works adorn prestigious venues such as The Four Seasons Hotel Miami and Le Sirenuse. However, by the end of 2019, delays in the Italian immigration system meant his asylum papers were not renewed in time, and he lost his job. Paboy with one of his creations From the lockdown to the enterprise When lockdown hit in spring 2020, frustration turned into creativity. Armed with reclaimed fabrics and an old sewing machine, Bojang began crafting cushion covers from home. Sharing his work on Instagram, his distinctive aesthetic quickly attracted an international audience. As demand grew, so did his vision. Determined to create opportunities he himself had lacked, Bojang began employing fellow migrants. Today, while he still hand-sews each cushion, he is supported by a talented young team whose roots span three continents—but who now share a common home in Naples. Looking ahead, Bojang aspires to become a beacon for migrant communities in the city—championing a future where dignity replaces exploitation, and creativity paves the way to independence.

Estebanland is a wood sculpture and slow craft atelier founded in March 2020, during the first pandemic lockdown. What began as a personal response to long, solitary days gradually evolved into a full-time artistic practice, gaining recognition for its distinctive approach to handcrafted wooden vases and sculptural objects. At the core of Estebanland lies a deep commitment to reclaimed wood and sustainable craftsmanship. Each piece is created using recycled materials: fallen trees collected in the woods, branches shaped by the wind, prunings, rescued firewood, and, more rarely, discarded carpentry fragments. Wood that was once destined to disappear is given a new life through a process that embraces imperfection rather than erasing it. Every handcrafted vase preserves the marks of time—cracks, scars, insect traces, and the natural transformations caused by fungi. These elements define the final form: organic shapes, raw textures, and sculptural volumes that reflect the passage of time. In contrast to industrial design standards, irregularity is not corrected but celebrated as a defining aesthetic value. Estebanland is the creative world of Stefano Puzzuoli, a professional photographer and former engineer whose multidisciplinary background includes dance and theatre. Today, sculpture represents his primary artistic focus, combining technical precision with expressive freedom. His passion for plants is reflected in his daily life and work, shaping a practice deeply connected to nature. The Estebanland atelier is located in Calci, Tuscany, within the garden of the “Casa Rossa”, a small house on the edge of the village. This artisan studio and garden form a unique, intimate environment where creativity and nature coexist. The garden, carefully maintained between carving sessions, mirrors the same philosophy of patience and attention found in each artwork. Crossing the gate of Casa Rossa feels like entering a slower dimension—far from the fast pace of modern life, despite being just a short walk from the town centre. This atmosphere embodies the essence of slow commerce and mindful craftsmanship, where time is an essential part of the creative process. Estebanland’s pieces are available on Artzan, a curated platform dedicated to artisan-made products and transparent purchasing journeys. Here, each object is more than a product: it is an experience. From the moment you place your order, you are invited to follow its creation, receiving updates, stories, and insights directly from the atelier—transforming waiting time into meaningful connection. Discover available works on Artzan and follow the making of your piece, step by step. The atelier and garden in Calci can be visited by appointment, offering an opportunity to experience firsthand the process behind these handcrafted wooden sculptures and sustainable design pieces.
